- About the Album:
- Boa Praça is the beautiful second studio album by the acclaimed Brazilian jazz pianist, composer, and educator Leo Mitrulis. The entire record is a conceptual love letter to the city of São Paulo. The track titles and arrangements are directly inspired by iconic public squares (praças), parks, and neighborhoods across the capital city. It is also a tribute to his longtime musical "guru", mentor, and friend: the legendary pianist Amilton Godoy (of the world-renowned Zimbo Trio). In Brazilian slang, calling someone a "boa praça" means he is a genuinely good, friendly, and trustworthy person, making it a perfect double entendre for the album's urban theme and his admiration for Godoy.
