- About the Album:
- Bellflower is an album by Japanese-American trumpeter, composer, and vocalist Jun Iida. Released in 2026, through the OA2 Records label, the album serves as a musical diary documenting his physical and creative move from Seattle to New York City. Following his 2024 debut Evergreen, Bellflower represents an intentional shift toward highly melodic, universally accessible modern jazz. Shying away from purely esoteric post-bop layouts, Iida weaves a rich sonic tapestry heavily inspired by his Japanese heritage, his upbringing in Pittsburgh, and contemporary genres like R&B, hip-hop, and cinematic ballads.
