- About the Album:
- In Light of a New Moon is a straight-ahead jazz album by New York-based, Israeli-born tenor saxophonist Asaf Yuria. Released in 2024 under the Jojo Records label, the project represents a major artistic milestone for Yuria, who spent more than a decade dreaming of making this specific record. Shifting away from the complex original compositions of his previous sextet album Exorcisms, In Light of a New Moon acts as a deep, infectious tribute to the hard-bop lineage. Recorded at the legendary Van Gelder Studio, this album is celebrated for its multi-generational acoustic synergy, matching a brilliant young horn player with legendary jazz veterans.
