- About the Album:
- "Face to Face" is the fourth studio album by the late NBA player and jazz bassist Wayman Tisdale, released in 2001, via Atlantic Records. The project was a major milestone in his musical career, reaching #1 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart. It beautifully blends contemporary smooth jazz with R&B, soul, and funk grooves. Before his music career, he was a legendary basketball player. Upon retiring from the NBA in 1997, he dedicated himself to his "first love", the bass guitar. He became a widely respected smooth jazz bassist, releasing eight albums. He passed away in 2009, after a two-year battle against bone cancer.
